Tough road trip continues Tuesday in Philadelphia
The Brewers will continue their nine-game road trip Tuesday in Philadelphia against the Phillies.
The reigning World Series Champions have yet to get in sync in the early going of this season. They go into the series against the Brewers just 5-6, worrying their manager, Charlie Manuel.
“I’ve seen some differences in guys. I’ve seen some differences in the way guys go about their business. I’ve seen some differences in how they act,” Manuel said about some of his players who are still caught up in the World Series win.
Whether or not the Phillies are in sync or not has to be the last thing on the Brewers’ minds. The Phillies are still an incredibly dangerous team, with a lineup chock-full of powerful lefthanded hitters.
As you probably remember, the Brewers were defeated in last year’s postseason by the Phillies in the NLDS.
“It definitely killed us last year,” said Brewers rightfielder Corey Hart. “We were feeling awfully good and went in there and got turned around. It would be nice to go in there and have a good series, but we’re just trying to figure out how to play good baseball right now.”
The Brewers will enter the series 4-8, looking to build on Sunday’s win against the New York Mets.
The Brewers will send Manny Parra (0-2, 6.97) to the mound Tuesday. He’ll look to neutralize the bats of Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, and Raul Ibanez.
The Phillies will send the ageless Jamie Moyer (1-1, 6.55) to the hill. The Brewers faced Moyer in game 3 of last year’s NLDS and had some success, and they’ll look to continue that Tuesday night.
Game time is 6:05p.m. CST.
